How I Work
How I Work - Counsellor in West London

My theoretical approach is Integrative. That means I have trained in, and make use of more than one model of psychotherapy. The theories I draw upon most are Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. But I also occasionally use techniques from Focusing, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Art Therapy. It really depends on the nature of the client, and their issues.
(For a simple explanation of these approaches, please go to the BACP website - link on the left.)
Psychotherapy in Acton
The way I practice is not "neutral" or "blank screen" (in order to facilitate transference). I am myself in the sessions, and I work with clients in a collaborative fashion. It is important to me to reach my clients' goals as effectively and efficiently as possible, always encouraging autonomy and self-reliance. Most of the time this is short-term solution focused work, but I also have long-term clients, some of whom I have been seeing for many years.
I see adults, couples and children.
I continuously update my knowledge with the latest developments in my field, as my accreditation status confirms.
